The End

Tell me about yourself:(age,culture,name,hometown,ect)
My name is Mamasan Chang. My actual name cannot be given out, unless you know me on a personal basis. My cultural background is Hmong, which pretty much means Nomadic or Gypsy. I was born in a refugee camp in Thailand (thanks to the Vietnam War), but I know live in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and frequent Milwaukee. Jesus fuck that was a pretty monotonous answer.

What experience do you have in this field?
What field are we talking about? Green grassy sorta field? Explosive third worldish war field? Profession/job/hobby field?

Do you consider yourself normal?

Eh, normality is underrated. Being different or attempting to be different is overrated. The line is blurred. I think people are aiming to be so special and “different” that it becomes the new “nu age” norm. I don’t know if I’m normal or not.

What is your philosophy when takin pics if any?

No philosophy, fuck philosophy. Its’ all pretty intuitive and a lot of the time it’s done unintentionally.

what would you NOT take a pic of?
Exploding body parts, anyone I find boring, anything I find boring, rotting buildings, rotting body parts, rotting personalities, rotting fruits, flowers, pretty girls, handsome boys, etc.

How would you describe your attention span?

Oh god, what attention span? I think I have Asperger syndrome?

when did you decide to become a photographer?

In my high school’s photography class, was when I realized that everyone’s work was shit and that I know I can be better than my classmates.

What does photography mean to you?

It’s therapeutic because I’m very socially awkward, have terrible anxiety, and is obsessive compulsive about documenting my life and the people around me.

Can you recall the first photo you took that made you go WOW!?

Nope. I haven’t taken a photo that made me go WOW yet. I probably never will, which is why I haven’t had a show in four years.

Do you have any formal training regarding photography?

Not really, aside from a semester in high school and maybe three weeks at art school, other than that I’m pretty self taught.

Where would your favorite place to live and work as a photographer in the World be and why?

I’m not sure. I don’t like living in one place for too long. I get bored, especially with the people. I find inspiration in the people around me, not the miniscule things around me. So, where there are inspirational people, that’s where you’ll find me.

Do you take pictures of strangers without asking them first? do they ever try to kick your ass?

No, I have no interest in photographing strangers. Fuck that.
